ABOUT
Welcome to Custom Genius! My name is Bradley and I would like to take a moment to tell you about myself and my business, Custom Genius.
I have been involved with computers and technology my entire life. I have always had a passion for gizmos and gadgets, computers and electronics, inventions and creations and art and design.
I had a very successful business in Des Moines, Iowa called www.cheapestPCrepair.com. I had a very loyal customer base and I enjoyed what I did. However, I felt I needed to do more. I seemed to spend every waking moment fixing computers, talking about computers, using computers… I could not get through one holiday or birthday or weekend without my phone ringing with someone needing my help. I certainly felt honored to be so needed but I was starting to get burned out. 75 to 100 hours a week can do that to a fellow : )
I knew many people who had visited Hawaii and I even knew some people who were Hawaiian. From listening to them over the years I had always dreamt of one day living in Hawaii. I believe the first time I ever considered it I was about 12 years old. Now, almost 30 years later my dream has become a reality.
I am fortunate enough to have a very understanding and wonderfully supportive wife. 
She had always known of my dream and I do not think she was very surprised when one day I suggested that we close up the business, sell everything we have and move to Hawaii. That might have been the end of some relationships, but Terri was wonderful about it. We started planning and selling and getting the appropriate papers ready for our dog (very big hassle to bring a pet into Hawaii, a no rabies state) and then, just a few months after we made the decision to move we found ourselves on a plane to Hawaii, a place neither of us had ever been to before.
Once we got here, we stayed at a hotel on Ala Wai Boulevard next to the canal for 1 week during which time we scrambled to purchase a vehicle and find an apartment that would accept our dog,
a little Maltese named Princess Maggie May.
Even though we did not know anyone in Hawaii and we had no help, within a week we were moved into an apartment in Makiki 
(an area of Honolulu) and we had found a great deal on a vehicle.
What next? Well, once the
whirlwind had died down and real life settled around us, we had to make a decision about what to do now that we were in Hawaii. I knew I could be successful in computer repair, I always had been and I can fix a computer blindfolded if need be. (lucky for me that blindfolded repair was usually not necessary.) Also I had done quite nicely in website and business promotion, photography and web design.
We decided to leave computer repair behind.
It can take up to much time and it takes up too much room. We wanted to focus our time on more creative ventures and Custom Genius fulfills our needs by providing an outlet for our creativity while also providing a valuable service to our customers.

Update, We have been in Hawaii for almost a year now. We have met so many wonderful people and made so many good friends here. Now that I have more free time, I have gone out on a limb and started doing something else I never expected I would be doing: stand up comedy!
